HISTORY OF CHARTREUX
Religious origin gave birth to Chartreux cats. This beautiful blue cat originated from the Middle East but was taken to France in the 16th century. This cat was mainly bred by the Carthusian Monks near Paris, and this cat itself was primarily a working cat. By the end of the 1920s, France started its breeding program for the Chartreux, and that brought healthy blond hair with an excellent face and strong body.
The Chartreux was not only brought as a new breed but for improving the body outline, type, and colors of the coat of the British Shorthair. World War II nearly exterminated the Chartreux. It is reinstated by industrious breeders as a lively and healthy breed.
PERSONALITY
Chartreux cat is calm and playful, never overly dramatic, noisy, or demanding. They are amiable to all the members of the family living with them. They are friendly and said to be intertour qualities which are rarely found in cats. They get along well with the family. Nevertheless, usually, they always attribute the deep emotion to one specific person. They thought an excellent day was when there were minimal playtimes, filled with a few meals and naps. They wanted the attention and words but left it all up to the eyes. They don’t care if leaving is for attention.
The Chartreux is a medium cat that is described as calm but friendly. Good manners make this cat a great companion for individuals and families but it is not found much in America. What is known about this breed is that the Chartreux is an impressive communicator and a great motivator. If he speaks, he can be deening thus he will need attention. Is CHARTREUX an indoor or Outdoor Cat?
Since the Chartreux cats are an expert hunter, their owners need to keep them safe in their yard. They will not create any noise for them to get inside easily into the safe or bathroom. They also know how to use the cat flap access inside during rainy days. Though Chartreux cats are supposed to be kept indoors, they love going out. To fulfill their outdoor urge indoor cats like the Chartreux require poles and equipment like a jungle.
CARE OF CHARTREUX
Chartreux cats are very low maintenance, love to play with children and other pets, but get bored very fast. So, this breed of cat is very intelligent; therefore, try to challenge your Chartreux to learn tricks. Additionally, they are said to open boxes. So do not store your kitten food in a box, even if it is closed. Engage the child locks on the boxes. That means that this light, airy coat is also an easy-care coat, since few-if any-experts say brush the coat; they actually advise against this-they also warn that, with its special texture, it really should be combed, not brushed.
But though Chartreux does love his grooming, there’s one good time it gets proper attention without the rug – with you and your queen mate. Chartreux sheds its feathers several times in a year. You should comb him every day to keep the bird coat in good shape during those times. But you really don’t need to bathe your cat often enough.
