Native to Africa, the Serval cat is a wild feline species distinguished by its tall, lean frame and eye-catching golden coat with black stripes and spots. Servals are excellent hunters with long legs and big, pointed ears that are suited to capturing prey in savannahs. Because of their agility, they can jump very high to capture birds in midair. Servals are not tamed and have strong wild tendencies, so even if some people try to keep them as unusual pets, they need particular care and big, safe cages. Wildlife sanctuaries or their natural habitats are ideal places for servals to live so that their distinctive hunting skills and habits can be fully enjoyed.
